Day 1

– Upon arrival in Johannesburg you will be met and transferred to Sandton sun hotel. You will have the remainder of the day at leisure.

Johannesburg is one of Africa’s biggest and most vibrant cities. It is the economic capital of Africa and the gateway to Southern Africa. Although not as famous as other South African destinations, there is plenty to do in Johannesburg and nearby Pretoria. The old city is a multi-cultural mixture of traditional medicine shops, Chinese restaurants, taxi ranks and ultra modern skyscrapers. There are excellent museums, art galleries and organised tours of historical and political interest

Day 2 –

This morning after breakfast you will be met for your full day private Johannesburg City Tour. You will get a glimpse of the fascinating city as well as a special add on of seeing ‘Newtown’ where there is some amazing graffiti art.

Johannesburg Southern Africa’s economic powerhouse and although it is the city of gold there are many attractions aside from mining.  Much of the big business has moved from the old town but the fascinating stories and historical buildings remain. Major sites include the Carlton Centre (Africa’s tallest building), the iconic Brixton Tower, Newtown, the Constitutional Court, the Nelson Mandela Bridge and the Origins Centre.

Day 4 through 6 – Shepherd’s Tree Game Lodge, Pilanesberg National Park

After breakfast you will be met by your driver-guide for your road transfer to the “Big 5” Pilansberg Game Reserve. Apart from the “Big 5”, there are 50 other species of large mammals, 354 species of birds and 132 species of trees. A wide variety of other rare mammal species also exist in the park, such as the nocturnal brown hyena, the fleet-footed cheetah and the majestic sable antelope. The lodge site is particularly favored by both black rhino and white rhino, and sightings of lion and elephant are frequent. The nearby cliffs are home to klipspringer and rock hyrax and provide strong updrafts for Verreaux’s Eagle and many more soaring marvels.

Day 6 Thru 11 – The Oyster Box Hotel, Umhlanga and Essence festival in Durban

After breakfast you will be met for your transfer to the Johannesburg Airport for your flight to Durban.
Upon arrival in Durban you will have the next 5 nights to enjoy the Essence Festival.
